Decided to upgrade the battery for 2 reason:
- To increase voltage – MGM controllers are rated to 63.0V compared to the previous Kontronik controller being rated to 58.8V
- To increase capacity – the increase compacity helps with voltage droop and with run time between recharge
Battery specification:
- Lithium Polymer chemistry
- Constructed of 60 x 5000 mAh cells
- Configured into 4 parallel strings each of 15 cells in series
- Battery voltage fully charged is 63.0 V
- Continuous discharge rate is 1200 A
- Battery capacity is 20 Ah (1,260 Wh)
- Completed battery mass is 9.4 kg
